Composting and Backyard Conservation Workshop

Sunday, August 25th starting at 1:00pm

Composting can benefit your garden and your community. Using compost in your garden enriches the soil, improves soil structure, and reduces the need for fertilizer. Composting also reduces the waste stream, lessens the burden on our landfills, and helps protect our water quality. Deciding to compost can be a great first step to practicing conservation in your own backyard!

Do you want to start composting but don’t know where to start? Then come to this workshop to learn the basics of composting! You will also be introduced to other actions you can take in your own backyard to spring into conservation such as using rain barrels and planting native plants.

This workshop is a brought to you by a partnership with the University of Minnesota Extension 4-H and North St. Louis SWCD.
