Today the Laurentian Chamber of Commerce welcomed The Sugar Shack to the chamber family with a ribbon cutting at their location inside Uptown Virginia. The Sugar Shack is a family owned bakery that serves delicious cupcakes, decadent caramel and cinnamon rolls as well as a full line of cakes for special events like weddings, graduations, reunions and retirement parties. They currently serve a limited lunch menu but are looking to expand their lunch business in the coming years.
“This event is a great opportunity for our business community to start to reconnect in a safe manner. The Uptown Virginia property allows plenty of space for social distancing and still allows for a great networking experience,” said Laurentian Chamber of Commerce President Erik Holmstrom. “It should be the first of many new events that allow us to get together in a way that is compliant with the restrictions but still lets people connect and have fun.”
The ribbon cutting at The Sugar Shack occurred as part of the chambers inaugural 2021 Breakfast Connections event. This event allowed attendees from the Virginia Police Department, Grandma’s Restaurant, Kristin Pessenda American Family Insurance, US Bank, Art Unlimited, the Virginia Community Foundation, The Sugar Shack and Range Mental Health Center to enjoy the decadent snacks from The Sugar Shack, connect with each other, share ideas and give a brief elevator pitch about their business.
The next chamber networking event is a business after hours on Wednesday, January 27th from 5:00-7:00 PM at Mid State Truck Service’s new location at 705 N 6th Avenue West in Virginia. That event will be co-sponsored by Super One Liquors and Mid State Truck Service.
