Part 2: Streamlining Minnesota's Environmental Permitting Process Event
Appelwick, Teresa. (2024, May) [LinkedIn Post]
Part 2 of our Streamlining Minnesota’s Environmental Permitting conversation was held at the Mineland Reclamation Building at Minnesota Discovery Center on Thursday.
We kicked off this discussion series with the Minnesota Chamber of Commerce several weeks ago (see previous post) and have continued to snowball our efforts. Conversations we have been having for years are in larger spaces with more voices at the table.
RAMS, APEX, Jobs for Minnesotans, and the Laurentian Chamber hosted a panel of speakers facilitated by RAMS Executive Director Paul Peltier. Panelists shared their unique insights into the permitting process from both sides - issuing and applying.
For the first time in well over a decade, Minnesota made movement in permitting reform this legislative session. Coordinated efforts for coordinated processes, we say! Thank you to our State House Representative Dave Lislegard and our State Senator Grant Hauschild for your work. This is a great start to make the change Minnesota needs.
We continue to move the conversation of permitting reform forward with our coordinated discussions of how our local projects have been affected.
What affects Northern Minnesota and Mining Country affects the State. What’s good for us is good for all business.
Thank you to our panelists:
Larry Kramka, Allyz Kramer, Jeff Udd, Julie (Varichak) Marinucci, Shelly Patten
Thank you to our hosts:
Paul Peltier, RANGE ASSOCIATION OF MUNICIPALITIES AND SCHOOLS; Rachel Johnson, Mickey Pearson, APEX, Area Partnership for Economic Expansion; David Chura, Jobs for Minnesotans; Laurentian Chamber Of Commerce
