Building Community, One Home at a Time: A Morning with Habitat for Humanity

On June 12th, we gathered for our Breakfast Connections event at North St. Louis County Habitat for Humanity, and it couldn't have been a more perfect morning. The sun streamed through the windows of their welcoming space, a place that represents so much more than just a building - it's a hub of hope, service, and transformation.

As we enjoyed a delicious breakfast - featuring incredible burritos made by Nathan and his wife - we were reminded of the incredible work Habitat does for our region. North St. Louis Habitat for Humanity is more than just an organization that builds houses; they build homeownership opportunities, stability, and brighter futures. Through volunteer efforts, partnerships, and community support, they help local families achieve the dream of owning a home - providing not just shelter, but a foundation for growth.

Right now, their team is hard at work on multiple building projects across the region, ensuring that more families have access to safe, affordable housing. From new home construction to critical home repairs, Habitat's impact is felt in every corner of our community.

This Breakfast Connections was also a bittersweet one as we said goodbye to Major Brenda Pittman of The Salvation Army. A familiar face at Chamber events and a true leader in community service, Brenda is moving on at the end of the month. We are beyond grateful for her years of dedication and wish her the best in her next chapter.

Of course, no networking event would be complete without an amazing group of attendees! We had a fantastic tournout, full of meaningful conversations and new connections. Shoutout to all the businesses who joined us: Salvation Army, Range Mental Health, Lucky Brewing Company, R.A.M.S., Hometown Focus, Virginia Co-Op Credit Union, North Star Credit Union, Up North Title, The Forge Social Haus, Superior Rock Bit Company, Miners National Bank of Gilbert, Brandie's Little Bear Learning Center, AEOA, Mediacom, and TechBytes.

We are so grateful to Habitat for Humanity for hosting us and for everything they do to strengthen our community. If you'd like to support their work - whether through volunteering, donating, or learning more about homeownership opportunities - visit their website at www.nslchfh.org
